ReturnSMS service

Readers of Shenzhen University Town Library can enjoy SMS services. Reminders such as overdue will not be sent to patrons via emails after 4th Dec.2013.

If you customize such service, you will get information like alteration on opening period, updates as well as activities.

Reminder before the due time

If you choose the service, you will get reminder before due time for borrowed books, periodicals & newspaper, audiovisual materials. Such service is automatically provides by SMS service, only used as notification before due date. As to detailed returning date, you need to check Borrowing Receipt or log on “My Library” of the library website.

Request for reply

 

Book renewal

You can renew Chinese & foreign books you already borrowed via short message and will get information about whether the renewal is successfully made or not

Search borrowing status

Via short messages, you can get information about the names of your requested books, periodicals and audiovisual materials as well as the dates when they should be returned.

Search in-library collection

You can search the status of the in-library collection(the first three lists will be displayed for books with same name)

Loss Report of reader’s card

Any loss of reader’s card can be reported via short message.

 

Virtual reference consultation

You can consult the staff for problems concerning in-library collection and resource usage and replies will be sent to you via short messages.

Self-help payment

Put deposit into reader’s card, overdue fines to be self-deducted.

Pick-up reminders for reserved books

 

You can choose SMS reminder when submitting reservation request. SMS notification will reach you when the reservation is successfully made.

Notification of newly purchased books recommended by readers

You can choose to get replies via short message. SMS notification will reach you if we decide to purchase the books you recommend and the books are already in the library.

Notification of reply to consultation.

If you choose to fill in online forms for information, you can choose to get the reply via short message.

 

Operation instructions

You can use your cell phones(only for local cells) to send messages to China Mobile Short Message Number106573400202(for China Mobile Service Holders) or 13924040171(for China Unicom or PHS Service Holders) which are specially designed for Shenzhen Library.
 Services are provided upon your customization. If you want to customize: first, bind you cell number, which is, you log in “My Library” to the page where you can verify or change your cell number for binding service. You can also send short messages to get your current cell number bound to your Reader’s card; secondly, you can customize the service. You can log on “My Library” to the very page for customization. You can customize or delete the services as you like at that page, or you can just send short messages for customization or cancellation.

There is no need to customize Request and Reply. You can just get feedbacks via short messages. If you already have your cell number joined up, just type the order into short message; if you send short messages via cells held by others, you also need to type your Reader’s Card Number and password after the order(turn to remarks for details).

Charging Rate

SMS (Including Customized services) is free. If you send short messages to 106573400202(applicable for China Mobile Customers) or 13924040171(applicable for China Unicom and local call communication system Customers), you just pay SMS fee to mobile network providers.

Remarks:

  1. You can only have one cell number bound. One cell number can only be bound to one Reader’s Card.
  2. When you use cells by others for renewal, report of card loss or checking borrowing status, you need to type your Reader Card Number and password after the Order, and the answers will be sent back to your current cells. Such as:
